(Grand Final) 3rds Vs Uni Blues
The day started at 9.15am with our Thirds taking on Uni Blues. Unfortunately we didn’t get the result we had worked so hard to try and achieve. The Varsity boys jumped us early and try as we might we just couldn’t catch up. Our boys gave it everything but sometimes it was just not meant to be, the ball just wouldn’t bounce our way. Nick Brown fantastic, Gareth Jones in his first full season has a real crack, Ash Huggins and Shinkers did everything they could, and Mark Parrent tried his best to repel the relentless Blues attacks. The fairy tale didn’t happen, but to coach Rob Muir, all his helpers and the 50 odd players who went through the side this year, we are all very proud of the year that you had. You have helped the club become a benchmark organisation, and established a culture within the Thirds program that is now attracting players and people readily from all groups within the club community. You are all hurting and disappointed but we hope the seniors win bought a smile to your face.
