BOYS ON BOARD WITH
FINALS CAMPAIGN
We are all aware that the First XV111 didn’t have the best of seasons. In many ways it was a development year. Certainly some talent amongst the ranks and things looking very positive for 2013.
Thankfully, with encouragement from the Head of Sport Peter Hawkins, First XV111 Coach Peter Curran and a lot of their mates, a number of boys have continued to make themselves available for our Under 19’s and may now in fact get a chance to play in a Premiership.
Notably Seamus Hobbs, Harry Hawkins, Michael Gregory, Mitchell Newton, Robbie Jesaveluk and Mark Schure have all represented the club this year and all look very promising players indeed. Seamus Hobbs in particular has really made his mark and playing a great brand of football, Robbie J following in his brother’s footsteps having a real crack, and Harry Hawkins shows a lot potential.
Most importantly, these boys have been embraced by their teammates and the club generally, they have found it very easy to acclimatise to the Collegians environment, and their parents are enjoying the involvement, all of which as President is extremely gratifying.
A Premiership would be a great way for these boys to cap of what was in some regard, a very long season.
Thanks boys and good luck this weekend.
