Best players:

Goal Kickers:

Will Pocknee 3, Scott Beilby 3, Ben Van Twest 2, Kenny Ong 1, Sam Parsons 1, Herschel Waters 1, Campbell Walker 1, James Archer 1, Zac Greeves 1.

Coaches comments:

It was an even first half against Old Camberwell. They were able to execute the basics slightly better than us and applied good pressure throughout. At half-time, we identified a few key areas to sharpen up, particularly the basic fundamentals of the game. The second half was very pleasing, with a significant improvement across the board. Impressively, the conditions became increasingly challenging, but we handled them very well and played the majority of the half in our forward half. The midfield was terrific, led by Franks, Ong and Bazzani, along with Johnson in the ruck. Pewtress and Davy were outstanding down back, while Bielby, Archer and Andrew were all highly influential in the forward half. Zac Greeves was also very impressive on debut. We face another top-of-the-table clash against OMs next week — another big game that we're looking forward to.

Reserves

Reserves 16-13-109 def Old Camberwell 4-4-28

Best players:

Jake Cotchin, Wilson MacDonald, Finn Wright, Jonty McGuiness, Jack Howard, Zak Bowes.

Goal Kickers:

Jake Cotchin 4, Ben Meachem 2, AJ Walker 2, Fergus Ekins 2, Adam Celik 2, Jonty McGuiness 1, Oliver Andrews 1, Ben Hill 1.

Coaches comments:

The Camberwell Reserve team has struggled all season and hence a solid win was expected. Eighty-one points was the margin with all players playing their role well.  The goals were spread, with all the forwards hitting the scoreboard, led by Cotchin putting together another powerful game with 4 goals. The midfield was dominate, allowing Walker to kick 2 early goals. The backline was tight and attacking with MacDonald, Carroll and Wright providing plenty of run through the centre line. We must continue to reward the runner and kick the ball a bit longer to Jimmy Grass!

U19s

U/19’s 5-4-34 def by PEGS 12-22-94

Best players:

Finneas Arnold, Dante Calgano, Will Scott, Lachie Nicholson, Alex Elg, Ned Hartnett.

Goal Kickers:

Will Johnson 2, Jake Marchesan 1, Blake Stack 1, Will Scott 1.

Coaches comments:

We returned to the Trott for Round 8 against PEGS who were one game behind us on the ladder. We won the toss and elected to kick with a significant breeze in the first. Missing a few of our experienced players to injury, we were outworked and unable to capitalise. The second quarter we showed more fight and had some periods of control.  Heading into half time 20 points in arrears, despite not playing our best. The third quarter was relatively even, leaving us the difficult task of closing a four goal deficit into a stiff breeze. This proved to be too difficult and we spent most of the last quarter defending deep in our backline. A five goal to zero last quarter capped off a pretty disappointing 60 point loss.

Thirds

Thirds 15-3-93 def Old Scotch 6-6-42

Best players:

Sam Hibbins, Speridan Peterson, Tom Penberthy, Fletcher Brennan, Richie Dell, Jonathan Huntsman.

Goal kickers:

Matt Singleton 3, Speridan Peterson 3, Will Johnson 2, Fletcher Brennan 1, Nic Crema 1, Ewan Davies 1, Julian Hampton, Sam Hibbins 1, Jonathan Huntsman 1.

Coaches comments:

The Pandas recruited some old heads and walked away with the 4 points again, putting us comfortably in the top four with a healthy percentage. On a strangely warm Friday night against Scotch we welcomed some Collegians legends and former players into the forwardline, who did not disappoint. The combination in the forward-line of Wil Johnson, Matt Singleton, Julian Hampton, Nick Crema, Johnnie Huntsman and Sam Hibbins proved significant, piling on a combined 7 goals in the first quarter. Scotch walked into the first break with the game pretty much gone. The backline was, once again, superb. This has been the case all season long. The likes of Clark, Mashni and Hines were ever-reliable and provided plenty of drive and run out of the backline through hands and precise kicking. Co-captain Richie Dell was excellent, particularly in the 2nd half, as was Fletcher Brennan in his swing role across centre-half back. The final quarter saw Speridan Peterson take control of the game and kick two outstanding goals. His season has been brilliant to date and no doubt will be given a well-deserved call-up to the Reserves. The Pandas walked away with a comfortable 8 goal win and move to a 5-3 record in season 2026. We come up against Brighton this weekend at Brighton Beach Oval. A win this weekend will put the team in a brilliant position coming up to the bye. Up the Pandas!
