Coaches comments:
A pleasing 4 quarter effort v AJAX. Backline was solid as a rock and provided plenty of run. Midfield worked tirelessly all day, provided our forwards with a lot of opportunity. Our forward line looked dangerous all day, and were very selfless, often setting up teammates in better positions. Lukic was exceptional with 7 goals and 4 goal assist. Sam Sofrinides was everywhere, and Bazzani and Ong continued their strong seasons. Looking forward to finals, where we take on an in form De La Salle.

Reserves

Coaches comments:
A comprehensive win, with all players putting their best foot forward for selection next week. Well done to all players who have represented the Reserves this season. Now on to the finals!

19’s
U/19’s 11-12-78 def Preston 9-10-64

Coaches comments:
First round of finals saw us face off against Preston at the Trott after earning a home final. Finals football is always different given the additional pressure, whether perceived or real. Conditions were very good considering the early morning starting time. We started well with many good looks at goal, but wasted a few opportunities. Despite this we were able to take a 10 point lead into quarter time. The second quarter was more of an arm wrestle and Preston’s spare down the line caused us a few problems. At half time the players were challenged to cease the predictable kicking down the line and instead asked to use angles and the open side of the ground. During the third quarter we were able to get our game going and the result, our highest scoring quarter for the game (5 goals). A 23 point lead at the last change. But it was not over and Preston were able to kick the first two goals of the last quarter to cut the margin to 9 points. We were forced to dig deep and play to the final siren. In the end a hard fought 14 point win against a well organised opposition. The win gives us a week off, then straight into the grand final the following week.
