The Job Isn’t Finished

As we close out the 2026 home-and-away season, there is plenty to be proud of.

Across the season, the Lions have taken all before us, finishing the home-and-away campaign undefeated. It has been a fantastic effort from our players, coaches and football department, and a great reflection of the commitment and hard work that has gone into the season.

But we also need to recognise that the job isn’t finished. Our goal is to get Collegians back to the top level, and to do that we need to win one of our next two games. The finals are where the season is ultimately decided, and we now have a great opportunity to finish what we started. We need everyone behind the boys over the coming weeks, loud, proud and supporting the Lions.

Our Under 19s have also put themselves in a fantastic position, qualifying directly for the Grand Final following a great win over our rivals Preston. It was a terrific performance from the team, and they now have two weeks to prepare while we wait to see who they will face and where the Grand Final will be played.

Unfortunately, our Women’s and Thirds teams both made the finals but couldn’t get the job done in their first finals matches. While their seasons have come to an end, both teams should be incredibly proud of reaching the finals and of the work they have put in throughout the year.

There will be plenty more to say at Presentation Night, but for now, I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the club throughout the season.Our supporters, sponsors, members, parents and of course, our incredible volunteers. Your contribution is what makes Collegians the club it is, and we are incredibly grateful.

We look forward to seeing everyone around the club over the coming weeks as we get behind our teams and cheer them on. The job isn’t finished.
