Coaches comments:
It was a big day for the club, with Jim Bazzani’s 150th, and Jake Cotchin’s debut. Our midfield set the tone for the day with a dominant display, highlighted by their work rate and cleanness. The backline were steadfast, conceding another very low score. Up forward there were many different avenues to goal, with Deano and Greeves doing the majority of damage on the scoreboard, with 6 and 4 respectively. Jim played a terrific game in his milestone match, and Jake Cotchin impressed, showing he is more than capable at the level.

Coaches comments:
We were on top right from the start, except on the scoreboard due to some inaccurate kicking. The game saw the return of three very experienced players in Jonty McGuiness, from injury, who dominated the ruck all day, and the two Lukes (McCleary and Smith), returning from overseas, who were busy all day. Six goals in the second quarter, five in the third and seven in the last, saw us run out very comfortable winners by 95 points, under the active leadership of 50 game player Jack Howard. Well played again Howie!The two small forwards in Fergus Ekins and Arley Wilson continued their good form with four goals each, Kulang Kulang kicked 2 goals in his first venture forward for the season, Will Houghton again kicking goals (2) from the wing and a very solid performance in the midfield from Herchel Waters resulted in him kicking a couple of goals. The match also saw the return of Cooper Brennan who played extremely well down back, with Al Nolan again performing consistently well alongside Brennan. I should mention other good players, but it was simply a disciplined team performance across the entire ground. Well done to all.

Round 11 saw us greeted by a crisp but sunny morning in Kew. Bottom-placed Kew has had a difficult season, and this game proved to be no different.With a significant number of our team away, we welcomed seven school players into the side and took to the field with four pairs of brothers. We consistently won the ball out of the middle and were able to lock it in our forward line. A seven-goal first quarter gave us a 37-point lead at the first break.The second quarter was much the same, as we piled on another seven goals to one to take a 76-point lead into the main break. As the ground conditions improved, our ball movement became cleaner, resulting in another seven-goal quarter and a 110-point lead at the final change.During the last quarter, we shuffled a few players around, including moving some defenders into the forward line. The changes paid off, with the side finishing the day with 12 individual goal kickers.At no stage did the players take their foot off the pedal, resulting in a 148-point victory—by far our biggest win of the season. It was also fantastic to see such strong support on the day, from our President through to parents and injured players. That support never goes unnoticed and is greatly appreciated by the entire team.
