Thankyou Jordie: Jordie McKenzie steps down from Senior men head coach role

October 7, 2026

After five years of outstanding service to Collegians Football Club, Jordie McKenzie has advised the Club of his decision to step down from the Senior Men’s coaching role. With a young family and significant work commitments, Jordie understands better than most the time, energy and commitment required to successfully coach a football club at this level. While we are disappointed to see him step away, we fully respect his decision and thank him for putting the Club and the program in such a strong position for the future.

On behalf of everyone at Collegians Football Club, we would like to sincerely thank Jordie for his outstanding contribution as coach and leader of our Senior Men’s program. Jordie was an assistant under Jared Rivers in the 2023 premiership, playing an integral role in that success and helping establish the foundations for what followed. When he took over as senior coach in 2024, he stepped into the role at a challenging time for the Club and showed tremendous leadership, composure and strength.

The 2024 and 2025 seasons were not without their challenges, with injuries and player unavailability making things particularly difficult. Throughout that period, Jordie continued to lead with commitment and belief, keeping the group together and working tirelessly to build the foundations for future success. 2026 delivered an emphatic response. Our Senior Men went undefeated in Premier B, winning the premiership and securing an immediate return to Premier A. The Reserves fell just one point short of a premiership, while our Under 19s were premiers. The success across the program is a reflection of the standards, culture and belief that Jordie helped build. To coach an undefeated season and lead the Senior Men back to Premier A is a huge achievement.

We would also like to sincerely thank Bella for the support she has given Jordie throughout his time as coach. Being a coach’s wife is not always easy, and the commitment, time and sacrifices that come with football coaching are shared by the family. From the players, supporters, volunteers and the broader Collegians community, thank you Jordie for everything you have given to our Club. Your contribution will be an important part of Collegians’ story, and we are incredibly grateful for the role you have played in our journey.
